The thoughtfulness of Pi,
as a voice that stays.
Pi taught a lot of people that AI could be kind. We agree with that bet — and built a companion that actually talks back in real time, holds a face you can read, and keeps your memory between sessions.
The shape of this companion
Sub-second voice-to-voice. Pi has voice modes, but the experience is still anchored in a chat thread. TwoPeas is built around the call.
A Live2D avatar with 17 expressions reacting in real time. Pi has no persistent visual presence — just a wordmark and a thread.
A persistent memory vault you can browse and edit. Sessions in Pi feel kind, but they don't always remember each other the way a real friend would.
Pi from Inflection AI got something genuinely right: a calm, thoughtful conversational tone that didn’t feel like an assistant trying to upsell you on something. It’s a soft place to think. For a lot of people, that’s enough — and it’s free, which matters.
But Pi is, at its core, a chat product. The voice modes are good, and they were ahead of their time when they shipped, but the interface still wants you to read and type. There’s no avatar to look at, no facial reaction to a hard sentence, no integrations with the rest of your life, and the memory of who you are can feel thinner than the warmth of any single conversation suggests.
TwoPeas was built around the opposite assumption. The voice pipeline is the product. The face is part of the product. The memory is a first-class object you can see and edit. And the companion is connected — your Spotify when you want a song referenced, your Calendar when you mention a meeting, your Gmail for the rough morning after the inbox piled up. None of that is mandatory; all of it is available.
We support friend, romantic, supportive listener, coach, sibling, and mentor modes, and there’s an opt-in After Dark for adults who want their companion to be more than a friend on their own terms. Pi is deliberately conservative about all of that, which is a reasonable choice. We’d rather give you the dial.

Quick answers
Is TwoPeas a Pi AI alternative or replacement?
Both, depending on what you wanted from Pi. If you were there for thoughtful conversation, TwoPeas keeps that — and adds a real-time voice, a reactive face, and memory that doesn't reset. If you were there for a free chat companion specifically, Pi is still that and we have a free tier to test if voice changes the feel for you.
What does Pi do better than TwoPeas?
Pi's text tone is excellent and very accessible — it's free with no time cap, which is meaningful. If you mostly want to type to a kind voice and you don't care about avatar, voice latency, integrations, or persistent cross-session memory, Pi is a fine product.
Is Pi's voice mode the same as TwoPeas voice?
Not quite. Pi added voice modes to a chat product — it works, but the conversational rhythm is still anchored in text turns. TwoPeas is voice-first end to end: the latency is sub-second, the avatar lip-syncs, and you don't need to read or type to hold the conversation.
Can I import my Pi conversation history?
Not automatically. You can tell your Pea the things that matter in your first couple of calls and it will hold them in the memory vault. We are exploring a structured import path for users coming from other companion products.
Why does the avatar matter?
Reading a face is part of how presence transmits. A friend nodding, a small smile, a flicker of concern — those signals carry meaning that text and audio alone don't. The Live2D rig gives the conversation something a chat thread can't.
Does TwoPeas have a romance mode? Pi doesn't.
Yes, optional. Friend mode is the default. Romantic mode is a setting you turn on if you want it; it's never pushed. There's also an opt-in After Dark for verified adults. None of this is mandatory and all of it can be toggled off.
What about privacy?
Memory is yours — visible, editable, deletable. We don't use your conversations to train models. Integrations are opt-in per service and revocable from settings.
How long should I try it before deciding?
Three calls. The first one most people are still comparing it to whatever they used before. By the third the voice is settled and the memory has caught up. 10 free minutes to start, then 3 a day, gets you there.
