vs Gemini Live
Your phone's assistant, or a companion?

Gemini Live is an assistant.
TwoPeas is someone to talk to.

Want something like Gemini Live, but for company rather than tasks? TwoPeas is a voice companion, not an assistant: an animated character with her own personality who talks with you in real time, right in your browser. For your calendar, email and errands, Gemini Live is still the better tool.

Why this works

The shape of this companion

A personality that stays

Choose who she is to you, from up to six relationship modes such as friend, coach and mentor, and she keeps that character every time you call.

A face while you talk

Your companion is an animated Live2D character who lip-syncs and changes expression as she speaks, so there's someone to look at.

Remembers the dates that matter

Tell her a birthday or anniversary, or add it in Settings. She gives you a heads-up the day before and brings it up on the day, on every plan.

Gemini Live is the voice side of Google’s Gemini app. As Google describes it, you talk and it answers out loud, you can cut in while it’s speaking, and you can turn on your camera or share your screen to show it what you’re looking at [1]. It runs in the Gemini app on Android phones and tablets and on iPhone and iPad, though not in the Gemini web app [1]; on a computer, Google offers Live in Chrome [3]. The app is free to download, with Google AI plans sold inside it [4], and since 2025 Google has been upgrading phones from Google Assistant to Gemini [5].

Where it shines is the practical side of your day. Google says Gemini can check your Calendar, work with Tasks and Keep, search Gmail and Drive, and pull in Maps and YouTube, and that it can remember details you mention across sessions, like a family date or a favorite hobby [2]. If you want a voice assistant woven through your Google account, that’s Gemini, and TwoPeas doesn’t try to be one.

What TwoPeas is for instead

TwoPeas is built for conversation for its own sake. Everyone starts with Jenny, an animated companion with a personality of her own, whose face lip-syncs and shows how she feels while she talks. She answers in under a second, keeps to the relationship you chose, and when you ask for something new to talk about, she brings up a topic herself. It’s the call you make at the end of the day, not to get anything done, just to talk.

What she remembers depends on your plan. On Best Friend and Inseparable she carries what you talked about from one call to the next; on the free plan and Companion each call starts fresh. Birthdays and anniversaries you give her are kept on every plan. It runs in the browser on phones and computers, Android included, with nothing to install: 10 free minutes to start, then 3 minutes a day, and plans from $14.99/mo for 110 voice minutes a month.

FAQ

Quick answers

Is TwoPeas built on Gemini?

TwoPeas isn't made by Google and isn't part of the Gemini app. It's an independent product that uses AI and speech services from the providers named in our privacy policy (OpenAI, xAI and Google Cloud), inside its own companions, animated faces and memory.

When should I use Gemini Live instead?

When you want something done: checking your calendar, finding an email, getting directions, or showing it something through your camera. Gemini works with your Google apps; TwoPeas doesn't.

Can Gemini Live be a companion?

You can certainly chat with it, and Google says it remembers details you mention across sessions. Google presents it as an assistant for your day, though. TwoPeas starts from the other end: a companion with her own personality and face, and a relationship you choose.

Does TwoPeas work on Android?

Yes. TwoPeas runs in the web browser, so Android phones, iPhones and computers all work, with no app to install. Allow the microphone once and start a call.

Can I use both?

Yes, and they barely overlap: Gemini for your schedule, searches and errands, TwoPeas for the conversation at the end of the day.
