Things to talk about with an AI
Ideas by mood, and she'll bring one up too.
Start light (the best thing you've eaten lately), go for a what-if (which superpower you'd pick) or pick a friendly debate (cats or dogs). Below are 40 ideas grouped by mood. On TwoPeas you can also just say you don't know what to talk about, and she'll bring something up.
The shape of this companion
Say "I'm bored" or "what should we talk about?" and she brings up something new, in her own words.
She won't change the subject while you're telling her something, or when you sound upset or are saying goodbye.
Keep politics, religion, money and more off the table in Settings: she'll never be the one to raise them.
Good conversation starters are specific, easy to answer and leave room for a story. Ask one, then ask “why?” about the answer. These work with an AI companion, a new friend or a quiet dinner table alike.

When the conversation stalls on TwoPeas
TwoPeas companions carry a bank of 148 hand-picked topics like these. Ask for one ("I'm bored", "what should we talk about?", "change the subject", "ask me something") and she'll bring one up in her own words rather than reading it off a list. She understands the ask in several languages, Spanish, French and German among them.
When your answers have gone very short, or you’ve been slow to answer more than once, she may bring one up on her own: never in the first couple of minutes of a call, and only a few times a call at most. She won’t do it while you’re telling her something, when you sound upset or sad, when you’re saying goodbye, or, unless you asked, when you sound tired. She doesn’t repeat a topic in the same call, and skips the ones she raised recently on your device.
What she offers depends on the relationship you chose. As a supportive listener she offers only gentle topics, and only when you ask, so a quiet moment stays quiet.
Topics she won’t bring up
In Settings → Boundaries, "Topics she won't bring up" has a switch for each of these: politics, war & world conflicts, religion, money & finance and gender debates. Switch one on and she'll never be the one to raise it, on a call or in anything she sends you between calls, like a voice note. If you bring it up yourself, she follows your lead. Anything you write in your boundaries, like "please don't ask about my family", keeps those topics away too.
Quick answers
How do I ask her for a topic?
Just say so: "I'm bored", "what should we talk about?", "change the subject" or "ask me something". She'll bring up something new in her own words.
Will she change the subject when I'm telling her something?
No. She holds new topics back while you're in the middle of telling her something, sharing something personal, sounding upset or saying goodbye.
Can I stop her bringing up politics or religion?
Yes. In Settings → Boundaries, under "Topics she won't bring up", switch on any of politics, war & world conflicts, religion, money & finance and gender debates. She'll never raise them herself; if you do, she follows your lead.
Does she repeat topics?
Not within a call, and she skips the ones she brought up recently on the same device until she runs out of fresh ones.
Can I just vent instead?
Yes. She won't steer you to a new topic while you're talking something through. With the supportive listener relationship she only offers a topic when you ask for one.
Is this on the free plan?
Yes. Topic ideas and the topics she won't bring up come with every plan, Free included.
